Pile heads Aziehaven Amsterdam

On behalf of Hakkers BV we have started to build six pile heads that will be placed in the Aziëhaven in Amsterdam. A challenging project, because the first pile heads must be produced and preserved within a period of four weeks.

The pile heads of each 10 tons are preserved internally and will have a striking yellow colour. Once the welding- and preservation work has been completed, the pile heads will be further fitted with bumpers, stairs and grids. The bumpers will be fitted with a synthetic bumper covering, to avoid damage to the boat as much as possible. In order to reduce the construction time in the port, the manufactured pile heads will be delivered in their entirety.

During this project, various divisions within the GB Steel Group have collaborated. For this project we collaborated with Kampstaal. They took care of pipe cutting.
