New construction Filter station Eemshaven
On behalf of Spie we have started the construction of the steel construction of the TenneT filter station in Eemshaven. In addition to the steel construction we have also delivered and mounted the 18 meters high lightning peaks. These dissipate any lightning strikes, to avoid damage to the station. The construction of the filter station is necessary because it turned out that too disturbances on the mains voltage are caused by harmonic pollution. The harmonic filters at the new station will counteract this distortion and thus guarantee the quality of the mains voltage.
Steel construction
The total weight of the steel construction is 150 tons and is largely internally preserved. The other construction parts have been preserved at our sister company Kampstaal and at an external party. Then, the construction parts are transported in various freights and mounted on site by our own technicians. Concrete bases were used for a solid foundation of the steel construction. They ensure a correct distribution and anchoring of the heavy construction on the substrate.
Collaborations
During this project, the various divisions within the GB Steel Group once again collaborated. Kampstaal took care of pipe cutting and part of the preservation. Machinefabriek Emmen made tools available.
